1. I
have been taught, when writing a paper never to change point of views. The
shifting of this causes the reader to see different viewpoints on what the
writer is writing about. Going back and forth on viewpoints can be very
confusing also to the reader. It also shows different types of writing points
of view also. I have also been taught to not use “I” all the time because it
does not sound good and it is too much repetition. When writing a paper you
should stick with only one type of point of view and you should not use
multiple point of views.

2. Villanueva defines rhetoric as persuasive way
of speaking and/or writing. He also says studying rhetoric is also the way of
studying humans. He says “studying rhetoric is complete study of
language”. Villanueva also defines
rhetoric as the conscious use of language. If you want to learn about how
humans function and how they socialize with people and other things, learning
rhetoric is the way of doing that, as in psychology, history, philosophy, and
much more. Language is a huge key in learning and understanding rhetoric. If
you want to learn how to write and read language is the one of the main factors
of accomplishing that.
3. I
have always tried to look at someone else’s writing and try into making it into
my own words. It is not an easy process of doing. If you want to imitate
someone’s writing you must know how to put it into your own words. That being
said, it is not easy at all putting it into your own words. You have to really
sit down and think how you are going to re-word it. Just like Villanueva did,
he would watch “I Love Lucy” and stare (which in my mind he was
brainstorming). He was thinking of what
and how he was going to write his paper.
4. When
he stops doing what he is doing and just stares, I feel like he is thinking of
what he wants to write about. In my mind, he is doing some type of
brainstorming. I will sit there and think, think about all the things I can
write about then I will go watch TV. It wouldn’t all come to me right at the
time. I would have to do homework or go shoot basketball and just think about
what I want to write about. Thinking about what you want to write does not come
to you all at once. You have to sit down and actually put things together and
think about for a good time. That is only if you want a good paper. Mentally thinking is the key of writing a
very good paper.
